Mini Masterpieces
Spanish Fork Arts Council presents the third annual visual arts event, Mini Masterpieces. Mini Masterpieces is a community art show for all ages. How is this community art show unique? The art is MINIATURE! Our theme this year is “Happy Birthday America-celebrating 250 years".
Kit Pickup
Participants will pick up a kit and can begin working on a painting, drawing, 3-D sculpture or mixed media piece. Kits can be picked up at the following locations:
- Library Hall foyer (80 S Main St.) February 10-12, 10am-6pm
- Spanish Fork Parks & Rec office (49 S Main St.) February 9-13, 8am-5pm
Art Drop-off
Please drop off your project on March 6, 5-8pm at Library Hall or email us to arrange another pick up date/time.
Art Show
The art pieces will be on display on March 7 from 10am-5pm in the Heritage Room at Library Hall. During this time, the public is invited to view the exhibits and vote for their favorite pieces. Winners will be selected by a panel of judges as well as by popular vote in each age group. The winners will be announced at an awards ceremony at 4:30pm. After the ceremony, artists can collect and take their artwork home.
Categories
2-D Art: A painting, drawing or mixed media piece adhering to the theme “Happy Birthday America". and created on the provided 2 x 2.5 inch panel. Elements may be added to the panel, but may not stick out from the panel more than ½ of an inch. A frame may be added, but can not be wider than ¼ of an inch on each side of the panel.
3-D Art: A sculpture or mixed media piece adhering to the theme “Happy Birthday America". and created to free stand on the 1 inch block provided. The block can be part of the sculpture, and may be painted or decorated. The dimensions of the piece may not exceed 2 x 2 x 2.5 inches, not including the height of the block.
